Top 10 Sandakphu Hotels Affordable During Tourist Season
There are many cheap & affordable Sandakphu hotels and other accommodation options in Darjeeling. While many of Sandakphu hotels offer lower quality services and amenities, they are all very adequate during peak times. Mid-March to late May and late September to mid-November are peak times. The Christmas and New Year holidays are also busy times.
The best budget Sandakphu hotels are usually owned by owners. They have a lot of returning guests because they rely more on word of mouth than the travel agencies. One of these owners told me their average annual occupancy is 65%, which is great considering the short peak season.

This is the hotel closest to the mall. Just a few steps you can reach the road leading to the mall and the entrance to the left lane. From the outside, it might not be particularly impressive since the entrance is in a small alley.
However, once inside, wooden furniture is present everywhere, from the front desk to all rooms, including the restaurant. Most of the rooms have beautiful views of the valley. However, the mall, where tourists travel great distances to stay in Darjeeling, is the hotel’s best feature.

2. Golden Heights Enclave, Sandakphu Hotels
10 very clean and tastefully furnished rooms in a charming 2-star hotel. The upper floors of the multi-storey residential building are hotels.
A Tibetan family owns it. Fantastic views of the snow-capped peaks and valleys can be found from the super-deluxe attic rooms. The hotel has a restaurant and a library on site. Customer support is excellent. Taxis come right outside the hotel door and the hotel has its own elevator.

3. Shangri-La Hotel, Sandakphu Hotels
There are only four attic rooms on the first floor of this charming little hotel. This hidden treasure can be found on the right after passing through the Glenaries on Nehru Road towards Chowrasta Mall.
The reception desk and the famous Shangri-la restaurant are both located on the ground floor. Tibetans own and run businesses. Formerly a traditional British house, the building has been completely refurbished. However, the overall British vibe has been subtly preserved.

4. Krishna Residency, Sandakphu Hotels
The hotel’s serviced apartments have one or two spacious bedrooms, nice amenities and a full range of hotel services, but you also get the comforts of a home with separate living rooms and private balconies and a small kitchen.
If you want, you can cook. It is located 1 km from the city and has a beautiful view of Happy Valley Tea Farm. Therefore, even though you are close to the crowd, you are still far from it. Although it is only vegetarian, the food served there is quite good.

5. Hotel Broadway, Sandakphu Hotels
The hotel, owned by the Amit Khatri family, has 20 well-appointed rooms, most of which have been converted and have wood paneling on the walls and ceilings to create a warm, cottage-style atmosphere.
The restaurant serving Chinese and Indian cuisine is located on the ground floor. The hotel is located on a steep street, a few meters from Gandhi Road and Darjeeling switchboard, and a short walk (4-5 minutes) from Chowrasta mall.

6. Darjeeling Tourist Lodge, Sandakphu Hotels
To get to the Tourist Lodge, follow Mall Road for about 5 minutes, then turn right into a lane after passing Gymkhana Club. The size of
the property, which includes a lovely private lawn to one side and spacious, well-appointed rooms, most of which have views of the valley behind, is its biggest selling point.
Lebong Racecourse was clearly visible from where we were standing. With more than 30 rooms, there is a main block and sub block. A large restaurant, bar and meeting rooms are among the facilities offered by the hotel.

A small hotel with 12 rooms that is both neat and ideally located. Nice and tidy accommodation. The mountain views are amazing from the attic rooms and the shared rooftop lounge. All staff are polite and qualified.

8. Sonar Bangla, Sandakphu Hotels
The staff are very helpful, and the location is quite convenient. There are many shops and restaurants nearby. Standard suite, super deluxe and duplex are several different room types. The valley and town are visible from the rooms on the upper floors in the back. The on-site dining room serves delicious dishes.

9. Dekeling Hotel, Sandakphu Hotels
The only way to reach this wonderful accommodation is to climb the steep stairs that lead from another hotel in the same building.
The Tibetan Dekeva family, who run the hotel, take particular care in ensuring that guests have a good time. The hotel is conveniently located in an old building right next to the taxi stand above the club opposite Gandhi Road Police Station.
The upstairs bedrooms have beautiful mountain views. Because Dekevas has cleverly kept the price in between the two, this hotel is one of the few that made it to both my mid-range and budget hotel lists.

10. Planters Club, Sandakphu Hotels
The Tea Growers Club, actually the Darjeeling Club Company Limited, was founded in 1868 as a gathering place for families and tea workers in England.
It offers spacious rooms and suites for permanent and temporary members as well as visitors. The Planters Club can be a great choice if you’re looking for a colonial setting with a strong sense of heritage and history. The club offers special facilities including billiards and table tennis.
